It has been a while since posting, but here is one of the the works i've completed since then.

Methodology:
1) thumbnailed and drawn on A3
2) Inked with Pantone markers.
3) Scanned, cleaned, colour adjusted, pdf'd and printed to A4.

This is a digital painting i did for fun during the holidays last year, working within the Corel Painter application.

This is a concept for an Aztec based Spaceman.

"It is common held history that the decline of the Aztec civilisation was tied with the decline of their corn crops multiplied by the threat of the Spanish. While this is true, it was not the real reason of the once mighty civilisation.

The Aztecs had in fact been in contact with their Gods, a supreme race from beyond the stars. Taking their offer, the entire Aztec civilisation had gone to a new home world beyond the stars.

Hundreds of years later, and the blood thirsty nation has once again begun to collapse, and this time it is their society which is to blame."

The Aztecs wear a close fitting space suit which makes them more maneuverable than our bulky space suits. The helmet is formed from an energy emitter which creates the protective bubble, trapping a fresh supply of oxygen around the occupant. The Aztecs also learned that this energy could be used to add design and beauty to the suit, and so they experimented with various designs before settling on the plumage design depicted.

Here is another page i have completed for the KOS program. I spent a lot of time on this one, looking at pics of angels from Neon Genesis and even more time painting. Its also inspired by "Sky Captain and The World Of Tomorrow" and "Laputa" as you can see.

The artwork was done by me from a sketch, then scanned in and painted in photoshop. Property of KOS.

The next one is slightly based on the spaceships from the new Star Wars series.

A busy Christmas

I have been busy up till Christmas taking a few days off after uni and doing a short job for Kids Outta School. A company which has been putting togther a pack of activites and sheets for primary kids that dont enjoy school. The brief is to illustrate and make the pages more fun and pretty to get them excited and into learning. Its such a great venture.

Well here is one of my favourite pages i did, the artwork was done by me and is owned by KOS.

I used photoshop and a custom brush, using images of coral reefs as a rough guide for light and form. The text was supplied by KOS.

This is a quick image I did for a friends animation. She needed a moon picture in her animation as a backdrop, its a really cool animation.

This was done in photoshop using photos as guides, using a few layers, a custom brush from a great tutorial here.

Even more almost finished

Horay, my main project, a kids book is finally finished and printed, its so exciting finally seeing it printed up. I'm almost at a loss now for something to do. Time to do some real projects.

In the mean time, and before i post the book up here, here is another speed painting, that really wasnt so speedy. From my head with no reference.

It is almost the end of week 11 of uni, so close to the end, and yet i have so much work to do still. I will start posting images that i am working on up here as i go along, to show you what i am working on and doing.
